Outbound Telemarketing:

Outbound Telemarketing means any plan, program, or campaign which is conducted to induce the purchase of goods or services by use of one or more telephones, and which involves a telephone call initiated by a person other than the consumer, whether or not covered by the Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Outbound calls are typically made to prospective customers and focus on sales, lead generation, telemarketing and fund-raising. Calls can also be made to existing customers for renewal services, contact list updates, debt collection, market research or pre-emptive customer service.

Outbound Process is where 'calls are made out to customers', mostly sales calls or "Telemarketing / Telesales" process are done thru Outbound processes.

Inbound Services :

Inbound service is when a customer contacts a company and a representative assists them. This can include a customer calling a support number, emailing the company or opening a chat session with a customer service representative. Typically, employees who provide inbound service focus on answering a customer's questions, resolving problems with a product or helping a customer place an order or upgrade a current service. For example, if a customer calls their electric company to ask about a recent bill, they would need an inbound service representative.

Customers who are looking for inbound service are typically either current clients or customers who have decided to purchase from your company. Most inbound service does not focus on convincing a customer to buy. Customer service representatives who provide inbound service may instead spend their time making recommendations or finding similar products as a substitute or add-on for the customer's order. For example, if a customer wants to buy a new printer and knows they want to purchase from your company, your inbound customer service team member may help them find the best printer based on their needs.
